Following the change in

UUencode in ab has also been updated. Though I seriously doubt
if ab has ever been tested in an EBCDIC environment :-) Does it
actually work Martin ?

MD5 digest port for EBCDIC machines:
a) the htdigest utility overwrote the old contents of the digest file
b) the Content-MD5 header value (ContentDigest directive) was wrong
when the returned file was not converted from EBCDIC, but was a
binary (e.g., image file) in the first place.

	Allow (though discouraged) htpasswd to get the password from
	the command line.  People who wanted this in the past probably
	just modified htpasswd.c to do it; that's a lot more difficult
	in the Win32 environment.

	Passwords, as user input, may not be 7-bit ASCII -- so we need
	to treat them as unsigned char*'s.  No surprises there; this
	just regularises the usage so we don't get compilation messages.

actually should run, based on the time of last run,
and to try to get a lock; prior to actually forking
and doing the real cleanup. This effectively avoids
a fork after each and every request; and limites
the spawning to just once every few hours.

a roughly 5 fold speed up. Forking really sucks performance wise on OS/2
as it isn't supported by the kernal but fudged in the C libraries for
unix compatibility.

a fallback type for files served by the ftp proxy, use the
ap_default_type() function to determine the configured type.
This allows for special configurations like
 <Directory proxy:ftp://some.host>
 DefaultType gargle/blurb
 </Directory>
Additionally, add the Content-Encoding: header to FTP proxy replies
when the encoding is defined (by the AddEncoding directive).
Because it was missing, it was almost impossible to browse compressed
files using the FTP proxy (works now perfectly in Communicator).

for the diff; ident seemed to have mangled some lines with the current
.indedent.pro. Sneaked in a write() to writev() replacement which
at least on FreeBSD makes a POST significantly 2-5% faster.

Added a README file. To make it even more obvious that there are
usefull things such as rotate_log, split_log and the likes.

Fix DSO support under AIX 4.3. With using_shlib forced to 0, many of

substituted with $(TARGET).conf, etc. Same for other strings with dots where
the dot wasn't matched as plain text.
