Summary0007746: Wrong reference
DescriptionIn Clause 5, TST008 has the following text:
“For one list of NFVI platform descriptors, see clause 5.1 of ETSI GS NFV-INF 003 [i.1].”

However, clause 5.1 in INF003 does not deal with this subject.

We believe the reference should be replaced with either:

Clause 5.2 of ETSI GS NFV-IFA 003
Clause 11.2 of ETSI GS NFV-INF 003
Cmause 8 of ETSI GS NFV-PER 001

I'm sorry Bruno, but I believe the Reference to clause 5.1 is correct,
but I now see the problem - I have been looking at "INF" and reading
"IFA" in my mind.

The paragraph in TST008 says:
The measured NFVI resources and the measurement processes shall be completely specified in the dimensions of model numbers, firmware versions, software versions, and any other aspects that influence the results (such as physical location of the components within a datacentre's racks and shelves). For example, the fixed frequency of the physical CPU clock in Hz, which governs the rate that the CPU executes instructions, is one important descriptor of the NFVI. Clock Speed may depend on other CPU settings, such as energy-saving power control. For one list of NFVI platform descriptors, see clause 5.1 of ETSI GS NFV-INF 003 [i.1].

and in *IFA*003, clause 5.1, you will find the intended list of parameters, which includes an item that expands on the CPU example given in the TST-008 text above:

• CPU manufacturer, model, configuration (e.g. speed), stepping level, number of cores, hyper threading (or equivalent) status: enabled or disabled, cache size

It seems that we need to add an Informational reference to IFA003, which was intended.

If your intent was to reference IFA003 "5.1" is the correct clause indeed. "5.2" is a typo in my message. Yes you do need to add an informative reference to IFA003 in that case but that can wait for the next maintenance round.
