# What are Tags?
[Tags](https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-Basics-Tagging) are a fundamental part of git, and therefore the Forge. They can be used to go back to a specific point in time and see what the repository looked like.
ETSI TC LI tags the repository for every published version of its specifications, and for the output of every TC LI plenary meeting. Tags can be viewed and searched at the repository's [Tags page](https://forge.etsi.org/rep/li/trial/-/tags).

# Conventions
TC LI uses the following convention when creating tags as part of the [CR process](Process/CR-process).
|Tag name|Description|Example|
| -- | -- | -- |
|`spec/{deliverable}/{version}`|Tags a published version of a given deliverable|`spec/102232-1/3.24.1`|
|`output/{meeting title}`|Tags the output of a given meeting|`output/LI59e`|
Individual elements such as `{deliverable}`, `{version}` and `{meeting title}` are rendered following TC LI's [rendering conventions](Conventions/Rendering-conventions).
