102232-3 CR 045 - Truncated packets in IPCCContents

Luke Mewburn requested to merge cr/102232-3/0045 into meeting/LI64

In order to deal with network access interceptions generating very high bandwidth traffic in the order of several Gbps on X3 and HI3 interfaces and to limit the necessary storage volume at the LEA side, we propose to add an option to intercept only truncated IP packets. Subject to national agreement a LEA may order a CSP to intercept and deliver via HI3 only a specified number of the first octets of all the IP datagrams pertaining to the target without distinction of the IP flows (IP SRC/IP DEST). Optionally, the original length in octets of the IP datagrams before the applied truncation can also be delivered.
