As per suggestion of Greg Stein and Paul Gilmartin, I change the misleading

ascii_CRLF definition to what they effectively already were: a name for
the constant "\015\012", regardless of whether on a EBCDIC or ASCII based
machine. In contrast, the CRLF macro depends on the code set because it
is sent thru the EBCDIC->ASCII conversion routines.
