Summary0007452: Function for displaying attribute content
DescriptionAt the moment, it is not possible to check an attribute value in the TTCN-3 languange. Such functionality is avalibable in TCI or through proprietary tool functions. The first option is quite clumsy and requires to execute the test suite, the second one cannot be standardized and used in conformance tests. As the result, attributes are not properly tested by the conformance test suite.

Proposal: Add a function (or functions) that would print attribute values.

Proposal uploaded. The feature uses new operators, because it would be difficult to pass types into an predefined function as type parameters are only available in an external package and cannot be used in the core language specification. The new operators use existing reserved words.

Are several new operators (without new reserved words) are better than one new generic operator with one new keyword?

STF agreement:
Instead of function like operators, the dot notation is more appropriate.

Example:
<Type>.display returns display attribute of <Type>
