| Summary | 0001863: remove some restrictions on accessing parts of templates in left hand sides of assignments. |
| Description | When accessing subfields of structured fields in a template of record type in the left hand side of an assignment, the restrictions when this can be done are too strict. If the field is set to omit or AnyValueOrNone this should cause an error, but this can be allowed without problems because in 2 consecutive assignments the field can be change first to AnyValue and then the actual assignment can be done. For usage at the right hand side, there is no change.
Then, such an assignment is done, the text in the standard is misleading regarding the expansion of subfields not mentioned in the assignment. I suggest that actually the expansion has to be done by the tools and this includes even the leaves of the type hierarchy. |
